The Department of Economics of Shih Hsin University will host its 22nd annual research conference New World Order under Uncertainty – the Opportunities and Challenges for Taiwan, on Saturday 17 October 2020. The program committee sincerely invites you to attend the conference virtually and present and share your research work via the online platform.

About the Conference

With SARS, Ebola virus disease and Coronavirus raging through the whole world, human lives are under the increasing threat imposed by infectious diseases. Infectious diseases not only threaten human lives, but impose huge impact on economy. Meanwhile, anti-globalization movement is spreading across the world and affects many corporations’ strategic overseas expansion whilst international trade continues to prosper. Moreover, the rise of digitization has contributed to the growth of big data, artificial intelligence and platform economics, revolutionized many corporations’ business strategies in recent years, and accelerated industrial transformation in many countries. To cope with the rapid changes in this era of uncertainty, most countries have formulated development strategy with emphasis on the improvement of innovation capability in an attempt to separate the weak from the strong. In the academic circle, many researchers have studied this irreversible trend and come up with various thoughts on the topics relating to macroeconomics and microeconomics. In an effort to identify the new world order under uncertainty, this conference has the great pleasure to invite researchers specialized in the related fields to join us and discuss the subjects relating to the economic issues under this irreversible trend. This conference will be honored with your presence, and earnestly calls for papers related to, but not limited to, the topics as follows:
